I have spent the last week or so at Mt Gibson, Western Australia working on the annual biodiversity survey. The focus has been looking at mammals and reptiles, using trap lines across four different habitat types both inside and outside a Predator-Proof Fence.

Here’s a video I made about my amazing experience;

This project is run by AWC, and it’s a great way to improve on your animal trapping and handling skills, as well as to see lots of unique arid/semi-arid species you might not otherwise get a chance to see!

If you want to do something similar, sign up as a volunteer on AWC website HERE. They send email callouts/updates on upcoming projects: simples!
