the third turtle project i got involved with in my 'summer of turtles' :)

the West Pilbara Turtle Program, based out of Karratha and Wickham, Western Australia is a citizen science monitoring project for Hawkesbills, Greens and Flatback turtles (although i was only lucky enough to see the Flatbacks again)!

It is run by DPaW and a really great place to volunteer :) you can get involved by following the links on this website: https://www.dpaw.wa.gov.au/get-involved/volunteering-opportunities/196-west-pilbara-turtle-program

i had so much fun living in Karratha and turtle-ing everyday!!

I would highly recommend the experience :) this video shows a bit about how it works -
